Heal, Grow & Rebuild

Our program offers veterans a safe and supportive environment to focus on their future and acquire valuable life and job skills. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy toward drug use, violence, and threatening behavior to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents.

Structure and Purpose
Residents follow a structured routine designed to promote responsibility, accountability, and personal growth. Each resident is expected to maintain:

  • Daily house responsibilities & one of the following:

  • Volunteer work to give back to the community

  • Employment

  • Enrollment in educational programs

Support and Oversight
Our mission is rooted in community, connection, and growth—veterans working together to support one another on the journey to self-sufficiency. We are committed to empowering every veteran to achieve self-reliance and live with dignity. Freedom Lake is supervised by dedicated veteran volunteers who ensure residents have the resources and support they need to succeed. All veteran volunteers live by our guiding principle:

Veterans Helping Veterans- Buddy to Buddy Forever!

Veterans Supporting Veterans:

A Path to Independence

Our staff screens all potential residents and continuously monitors their progress to ensure compliance with program expectations and standards.

This program is designed to help Veterans sustain long-term personal growth—offering support for up to 24 months as they work toward stability and independence.

Three Levels of Living

Our structured model includes three levels of transitional housing, each offering increasing independence and decreasing oversight:

  • Level 1: Highly structured, with close monitoring and maximum accountability

  • Level 2: Moderate oversight with more personal responsibility

  • Level 3: Least restrictive, encouraging independent decision-making

As Veterans advance through the levels, they develop essential life skills to shift from dependency to independence.

Holistic Learning & Life Skills Development

Residents engage in a wide variety of educational topics and hands-on experiences, including:

  • Financial literacy & money management

  • Trade skills & hands-on training

  • Healthy habits & wellness (yoga, biking, farming)

  • Recreational therapies (fishing, bee-keeping, community building)
